Dee Why

About Dee Why

Dee Why is a coastal suburb of northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia, 18 kilometres north-east of the Sydney central business district. It is the administrative centre of the local government area of Northern Beaches Council and, along with Brookvale, is considered to be the main centre of the Northern Beaches region.

Dee Why is the heart of the Northern Beaches with its excellent family friendly beach and ocean swimming pool. Only minutes from the world famous Manly Beach, Dee Why has many attractions from stylish beach cafes, a 50 metre pool and toddlers area, picnic areas and over 200 specialist shops. Dee Why has a friendly- family feel that meets the needs and expectations of its residents and welcomed visitors.

Dee Why Beach Corso is stylishly designed with a mix of stainless steel street furniture, picnic tables, elegant looking lamp posts and shower units.
The beach is easily accessible with ramps leading down to the beach itself which is welcomed by families with toddlers in prams and strollers.

Dee Why Beach faces slightly south east but its southern headland both gives protection from southerly winds and shape to any swell coming from the south. The point break here is a beauty, and local surfers converge on it in numbers when it’s working.

Dee Why itself is a key hub of residential and commercial activity along Sydney’s northern peninsula and thus offers a variety of accommodation, dining, shopping and nightlife.
