Carindale - Brisbane

Location 10 km south-east of the Brisbane CBD.
Features Carindale Shopping Centre, good public transport, close to Griffith University and Moreton Institute of TAFE.
Commentary In contrast to some of it’s neighbouring suburbs, Carindale is newer, having been settled in the early 1980s. The largely brick-and-tile area has seen very good growth over the past five years and lately residents have been modernising their homes by rendering. There are also some newer pockets of housing constructed in the past few years. Community infrastructure in this area is very good with a major hospital only minutes away.

There are primary and high schools located in and around neighbouring suburbs. Griffith University and Moreton Institute of TAFE are nearby. Shopping facilities include Carindale Shopping Centre plus smaller centres in Carina, Belmont and Mt Gravatt East. The area has many walk and bikeways, parks and waterways and is close to Carina's Clem Jones Sporting Complex. The suburb has access to very good bus transport via the Carindale Busway. There is some vacant land left for either residential or commercial/retail development.
